Why is my life like this?
by
David Abram

Many people reflect upon their own lives and are unhappy with some of what they see. Often the first questions they ask are; why is my life like this, Why can't I get ahead.

The Bible and the law of attraction provide us with a couple of fundamental principles at work here. The first is that our thoughts quide our actions. Think about it. Have you ever said or done anything that didn't start with some thought? Of course not. Everything that we do or say begins with a thought. Our thoughts quide our actions. Many of our actions are completely subconscious. For example, a person who thinks of themselve as a successful business person will take actions that ensure their success, a person who sees themselves as a great athlete will practice more and harder. As human beings we take actions based upon our thoughts. We attract into our lives exactly what we think of.

The book of Proverbs tells us very clearly just how much impact our thoughts can have in our lives.
Proverbs 23:7 (New American Standard Bible)
"For as he thinks within himself, so he is."

That's pretty clear. So how does that apply to us today?

  1. If you think your relationships are terrible, they will be.
  2. If you think life just gets tougher, it will.
  3. if you think you will never get ahead, you won't.
To change your life, change your thinking. Instead think:
  • My life if filled with wonderful, loving relationships.
  • My life just gets better and better with each day.
  • I have an abundance of everything, money always comes to me quickly and easily.

The second principle at work here is that sometimes we work against ourselves. Subconsciously, we will not take actions that are contrary to our fundamental thoughts. For example, if we don't like affluent people and are jealous of them, we don't take actions that would make us affluent. If we do take actions to be affluent, those actions will most likely fail.

The concept is simple and wonderfully explained the book of Mark.
Mark 3:25 "If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand."

Examine your goals. Are they contrary to your fundamental values and thoughts?

  • If you want a better relationship with your friends and family, what do you think of them?
  • If you want more money, what to you think of people who are wealthy? Do you love them and want to be around them or do you resent them and harbor jealousy.

If you want to know why your life is like it is today, examine your past thoughts and actions.

If you want to know your future, examine today's thoughts and actions.

Always remember:

  1. The importance of your thoughts.
  2. As you think within, so you will be.
  3. A house divided against itself will not stand.

May God bless you and fill your life with abundance.
